Working closely with the Newcastle City Council, Elite Power Group helped the development of Gregson Park Playspace by installing electrical infrastructure to power facilities, and the installation of lighting throughout the park.
In the heart of Hamilton, Gregson Park playspace is an inclusive space for a range of activities including trampolines, climbing, sliding, and an obstacle course for family events and community usage.
This stage of development is a part of the City of Newcastle's master plan of the area.
Elite Power Group participated in the development of the new area's electrical infrastructure, including lighting for pathways, as well as sitting and undercover areas with facilities.
The project consisted of various electrical solutions including your standard trenching and cable runs, as well as light post and electrical connection installations to help light up the path during the evenings.
Part of this process was having the ability to be dynamic in the system's design to ensure the ultimate safety and longevity.
One element our team always strives for is reliability in our installations.
By providing power to Gregson Park's facilities, we know the importance of reliability and having BBQs, lighting, and other electrical loads maintain operation for the long-term.
We provided new electrical infrastructure to the new Amenities block which was rebuilt, providing conduit work, exterior and interior lighting, as well as installing switchboards and relocation cables through pits to accommodate them.
The pathway light posts used are designed to be tamperproof, and run at a low voltage for safety measures. These were installed by a coordinated crane lift to help us install them. Due to the soil compactness, extra reinforcement was required for a solid installation.
Any existing light posts were relocated to accommodate the new cable runs.
Another element of the installation was the addition of a stylistic light bar design to one of the amenities walls. This kind of lighting accents the style of the park and the building.
In addition to the primary installations throughout the park, we also provided cable relocations to the greens shed to accommodate the new system so the greens men have power. The remainder of the park's electricity needed to stay operational whilst we worked on this segment of the park.
There was also a requirement to avoid the fig trees as they are under heritage protection which was another attribute to the installation.
Because of the intricacy of this build, our team needed to manage, plan, and execute safety, protective, and other installation
requirements to ensure the installation was built to City of Newcastle's criteria.
