Over the course of 2025, we witnessed both stillness and absolute chaos throughout the industry with announcements, rebates, and legislation changes that have affected everyone and every company.
Our team experienced the dynamic nature of demand this year, particularly in the realm of battery storage with the federal incentive and its effect on the industry both before and after.
Even with the spotlight being on primarily battery storage, demand for solar continues to spill as more and more households strive for greater energy independence.
At Elite Power Group, our team installed 2708 solar panels, totaling 1220kW of solar PV generation for homes across the Hunter, Newcastle, Maitland, Cessnock, and lastly, Lake Macquarie, which had the most solar installations in 2025.
A large portion of solar jobs were both existing and new customers wanting to expand their already existing solar capacity. New installations continued throughout NSW with our average solar system installation size being 8.6kW for homes, and 6.6kW if you include multi-residential projects.
The furthest project our team conducted was 400km in Baradine, and the closest was across the road from our HQ around 30m away. (We didn’t charge travel fees!)
Battery storage has been a wild ride in 2025. In preparation for the rumoured Federal battery incentive, many customers held onto their money waiting for the next opportunity which saw the industry slump until the announcement which whiplashed the industry into peak operation.
Since the announcement of the federal subsidy, industry-leading manufacturers and distributors struggled to keep up with demand which caused delays which have continued into early 2026.
Elite Power Group saw extreme demand for energy storage in the second half of 2025, with total installed energy capacity reaching 2.3MWh (2300kWh). With an average system size of 20kWh and our largest battery installation for a home being 67kWh, customers were able to invest in larger batteries for their homes with the incentive.
Maitland took the trophy with the most amount of Elite Power Group battery installations, contributing to the total of 119 battery projects conducted across 2025, with Sungrow taking the cake with their SBR series battery being the most installed this year.
Interestingly, one of the most common questions we were asked this year was ‘is my inverter battery-ready? My installer said it was’. A lot of these systems were technically battery-ready for AC-coupled retrofitted batteries, but not hybrid.
During this year, Elite Power Group installed 28 electric vehicle chargers for homes across Newcastle and Maitland, and we completed the installation of 5 new commercial EV chargers for Maitland City Council’s EV charging infrastructure upgrade.
In 2025, our team had a few highlights, including a small team that were invited to Cairns, QLD, as a part of GreenTech’s 2025 conference where manufacturers presented new products and services to a range of installers throughout NSW and Australia.
Our team also completed some large-scale projects and milestones for Reflection Holiday Parks, as well as over 100 multi-residential solar projects for building groups and multi-residential electrical for retirement villages through NSW.
Achieving its 11th year in operation, we’ve also invested in creating resources, not only for our existing customers, but also everyone who wants to know more about the solar and electrical industry. Our website team provided 40 new resourceful articles to help better our readers, as well as 27 value-driven emails to spread new and upcoming news and updates.

Over 2025, our team achieved some impressive statistics which we are grateful for. We’d like to thank our customers, employees, suppliers, and partners for supporting your local business, and we’re excited for what’s to come in 2026.
‘We’d like to shoutout our customers and thank them for being patient with us and sticking around, as we faced the hurdle that this industry has thrown our way.” - Dan Hansen, General Manager.
I’m still waiting for my battery? The high demand paired with industry wide lag and delays has caused a bit of frustration in both customers and installers. We really appreciate your patience in waiting for your installation, as our team have been working very hard to get more stock to complete installations as soon as possible.
